Pavilion Kuala Lumpur Shopping Mall

Located at the centre of the uber trendy Bukit Bintang district, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur is a sprawling 1.37 million square feet complex comprised of three major components – a retail mall, an office block and two residential towers. Occupying prime real estate along Jalan Bukit Bintang, the mall was opened in 2007 and is noteworthy as the city centre’s trendiest and most popular shopping development.

The main entryway of the mall plays host to the Pavilion Crystal Fountain; a new national landmark, this fountain is the Tallest Liuli Crystal Fountain in Malaysia. Just like the Trevi Fountain in Rome, visitors can toss coins into the fountain to make a wish – the coins are collected and donated to charity later.

The mall’s Centre Court – also known as Bintang Circle – is used as a promotional space for thematic events and the bank of elevators is located beside the atrium. Pavilion’s known for its all-encompassing Christmas decorations – from huge pine trees, giant sleighs, life-like Santa’s workshops, giant baubles and oodles of gifts piled high – that adorn Bintang Circle (as well as the area surrounding the Liuli Crystal Fountain), come December. Encircling the Centre Court are popular coffee chains – Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and Dome CafĂ©, which are great places to grab a cup of java before you begin your exploration of Pavilion.

The seven-storey retail mall consists of six shopping precincts as well as a row of street-front boutiques. Popular no matter the day of the week or time of day, Pavilion boasts over 450 stores, including the four-storey Burberry and Esprit. A large number of haute fashion marques such as Juicy Couture, Gucci, MaxMara, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Versace, Prada and more call Pavilion home.

These high-end stores can be found in the Couture Pavilion sector of the mall and a majority of them occupy double-storey street front lots. Meanwhile, the interior of the mall houses a wide range of small-time international boutique fashion stores.

Opposite the main concourse is the Pavilion’s main anchor tenant, the three-storey Parkson Grand – a Singaporean departmental store. Other big chain department store ventures include Tangs, Mercato Supermarket and Harvey Norman.
